City of Two Springs

documentary media campaign / digital painter

When the war with IS in Iraq is almost concluded, eleven year old girl Ala' wants to return to her house in Mosul. Through Ala's eyes we discover how war destroyes the lives of eeryday people. In the search for a new future, hope proves to be as valuable as scarce. 'City of two springs' is an intimate film about human resilience in the most difficult circumstances possible.

My work

Media campaign design

Fellow artist Jeroen Peter approached me to collaborate on creating visuals for a nationwide campaign promoting the film. Our mission was to artistically reimagine major cities as scenes of devastation, evoking the grim aftermath of war, thereby encouraging people to contemplate what their own cities might resemble if subjected to such destruction.

Below you can view a selection of the paintings Jeroen and I made to drive home the campaign's poignant message.
